Flying by airplane is ruled by a lot of different regulations. There is a security policy that not only forbid you to have any object with sharp edges on board, but also toy, plastic weapon for your child. You cannot have to much liquids in your carry-on baggage, also it has to be packed in small, plastic bottles and put together in transparent bag. Also, there are couple rules telling as which kind of food we are able to take with us on board.
Food in carry-on baggage
If we are travelling to different countries, a lot of times we are buying souvenirs there, not only for our friends, but also for ourselves. You are visiting France and fell in love in some kind of cheese? Or maybe special king of chorizo was the most delicious thing you ate in Rome? There is no problem to buy products like that. You can have some eating with you not only to checked baggage, but also into your hand bag. But you need to make sure that it is packed properly, in original producer’s bag. Otherwise, you won’t take it on board, only in registered bag. Some airline companies, especially at long distance flights, may forbid you to take some tender food, cause it may get spoil. All those regulations concern flights inside European Union. You are able to take a special formula for your infant child with you, with no limits, but is has to be double-checked before the flight.
If you are travelling outside the UE, you need to check out regulations about food transferring in each country you will be staying, even joust on the airport. Cause different countries have different rules, and is has nothing to do with each airline companies policy. For example, you are not able to have any fresh food in your bag while entering United States or Australia area, even in your checked baggage. Also, when you are planning to come back from your holidays, you cannot have any dairy, meat or other products of animal origin in any kind of baggage. European Union food policy is very restrictive.
In most of the times, you are able to take on board any type of food with you on board, but it need to be packed in original bag, with expiration date on it. In some, long distance flights, flying attendant may ask you to trough away any fresh food from the cabin, cause it may get spoiled. Carrier’s policy is not the only issue, more important are law food regulations in each country you are planning to visit. At European Union area you are allowed to take formula for your child with no limits, but it has to be checked first.
